On Saturday, March 14th, we are offering a class to make a traditional European Easter tree. You can read more about the class here.
Eggs are symbols of fertility all across the globe, but the traditions of decorating eggs at Easter time originated in Germany. Weeks before Easter in Germany, trees and fountains are adorned with hand-blown and beautifully decorated eggs.
Easter trees (or Osterbaum as they are known in Germany) are also found inside the home. These Osterbaum are usually made of cut branches from pussy willows or other flowering branches and decorated with hand-painted wooden eggs and little garlands.
Come and celebrate this age-old tradition by joining us on Saturday, March 14th, at 3:00 p.m. to make your very own Easter tree!
